Social Security Region 7: Kansas City

Region 7 of the Social Security Administration includes the following: Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri. The region also includes 68 Field offices, 9 Offices of Disability Adjudication & Review, and 9 Offices of Disability Determination Services. Within Region 7, there are a little over 470,000 individuals who receive SSDI and approximately 260,000 individuals receive SSI. Overall, around 6.7% of the population in the region is considered disabled by the SSA’s standards and the SSA gave out on average about 640 million dollars in benefits per month in 2013.
