Social Security Region 3: Philadelphia

Region 3 of the Social Security Administration includes the following: Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The region also includes 133 Field offices, 3 Telephone Service centers, 1 Social Security card center, and the Mid-Atlantic Social Security Center. Within Region 3, there are a little over 1,017,000 individuals who receive SSDI and approximately 770,000 individuals receive SSI. Overall, around 8% of the population in the region is considered disabled by the SSA’s standards and the SSA gave out on average about 1.53 billion dollars in benefits per month in 2013.
