Vermont State Supplements for SSI

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program limits claimants to receiving a maximum of $733 per month. Most states also offer additional benefits known as state supplemental benefits to individuals who are receiving SSI. Residents of Vermont on SSI can potentially receive state supplemental benefit payments depending on their current living arrangement.

The SSA administers Vermont’s state supplement, this means a claimant will receive a check that includes both the federal SSI payment and the state supplement payment. An independent, non-married individual can potentially receive an additional $52.04 per month while a married individual can be eligible for an additional $98.88.
